Description
An archaeological watching brief was carried out following the excavation of footings for a small conservatory extension. The fill of the trench to the base was a homogenous layer of black/brown garden loam and it is unclear whether the dark soil at the base of the trench was a Roman occupation layer as it could not be differentiated from the topsoil. The footings measured 7m long and 1m in depth. Roman and Medieval pottery were identified (S1).
