Description
An archaeological evaluation was carried out in advance of the construction of a house on land behind 70 Northgate Street. The evaluation consisted of a single trench measuring 5.5m long and 1.2m wide. The initial excavation was to a depth of c.0.6-0.7m. Following the cleaning of the trench surface it was widened and a deeper section was dug. The resultant trench was 3.75m long and 1.6m deep. Medieval features were identified during the evaluation (S1).
