Description

Archaeological monitoring was carried out on groundwork associated with the replacement of a support for an existing footbridge within the grounds of the castle. The hand excavations of two holes for gabions were examined. The first gabion was dug 1.5m by 1m to a depth of 1m and the second gabion was dug 1m by 1m and was cut to a depth of 1m. The only finds were post medieval brick.
