Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out during the excavation of footings and service trenches. There was a shallow layer of redeposited topsoil over the site and various disturbances associated with the standing buildings and their services. Most of the trenches were cut through natural sand. This is consisted with the site having been levelled during the construction of the airfield. No finds or features of archaeological interest were identified.
