Description
Monitoring of groundworks for a new dwelling at 153 Chediston Street. Strip foundations revealed made-up ground to the north of the building footprint, cut by a large post-medieval pit. Artefacts of late medieval and post-medieval date were recovered from the upcast spoil. The footing trenches measured between 0.5m and 1m wide and between 0.9m and 1.5m deep, and were excavated through up to 0.4m of mixed deposits associated with previous buildings and services.
