Description
Archaeological monitoring of construction groundworks for new farm buildings at South Elmham Hall Farm. St Cross South Elmham, did not identify any archaeological deposits. Following removal of an existing concrete yard across the majority of the site it was apparent, where exposed, that the natural clay surface and any former archaeological horizon was heavily truncated. One part of the site extending into a pasture field showed an intact geological horizon under subsoil and topsoil deposits.
