Description
In order to mitigate the lack of monitoring of the foundations for a rear extension a short trench was excavated behind the new build area. 4.5m-0.6m trench located 1m west of the new rear extension. The trench comprised of 0.4m of top soil over 0.4m mid brown chalky clay subsoil making its overall depth 0.8m to the locally occuring glaciofluvial natural deposit which comprised a pale brown sandy clay with numerous small chalk fragments.
