Description
A watching brief was carried out on two 3m by 3m holes at RAF Lakenheath, connected with the improvement of the water pipe network. The first hole to the east of the base theatre showed modern deposits in the top 0.40m over 0.35m of sand which overlay natural chalk and sand. The second hole showed complete disturbance from a modern wall, a tree and flooding. No finds or features of archaeological interest were identified.
