Description
Monitoring of the excavation of 3 water drainage pits and the 100m of pipe trench on the northern, eastern and western sides of Wenham Castle. The excavation revealed a uniform deposit profile with 0.35m of topsoil above 0.3m-0.35m of mid brown sandy subsoil. Below the subsoil the locally occuring glacial drift deposit was a silty orange sand with small flints.
