Description
Monitoring of ground works for an extension on the north-western side of the village did not reveal any archaeological features or finds. The initial site visit monitored the excavation of a sakaway which revealed 0.25m of topsoil above 0.25m of mid brown clay subsoil over the natureal deposit which was pale brown chalky clay with flints. The c34m of foundation trench revealed a similar deposit profile with 0.2m topsoil over 0.3m subsoil above the same stiff chalky clay (S1)
