Description
Monitoring of ground works of an extension to the north of the edge and close to the line of a Roman period road did not reveal any archaeological features. The foundation trenches were 12m of 0.6m wide and 0.9m deep, revealing 0.3m topsoil above 0.3m of mid brown clay subsoil which lay over the local occuring natural which was stiff pale brown clay with chalk and flints (S1).
