Description
Monitoring of groundworks prior to the construction of an office building. All trenches revealed a 0.3-0.4m layer of topsoil over either disturbed ground or a layer of mid brown clay and chalk. Beneath this, from 0.5-1.0m deep, was the natural subsoil, a mix of mid/dark brown/orange sandy clays. A possible ditch and large pit or hollow were recorded. No finds were recovered.
