Description
2017: A programmes of archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken during groundworks for the construction of a storage barn and alterations to existing vehiculare at Nethergate Brewery. Excavated footings for the storage barn were monitored and the work revealed a buried topsoil and soil imported to level the ground for the original construction of Rodbridge Car centre and the existing car park. Beneath this were deposits of natural sand and gravel. An undated pit which was likely of modern date as it cut the buried topsoil and a modern service trench were recorded. No archaeological deposits and finds were present.
