Description

An archaeological monitoring was carried out in July 2006 during the erection of privacy fencing near Caudle head at RAF Lakenheath. Four phases of fence erection were undertaken, but only the first phase, on the west side of the Heavy Compound off Rochester Road was monitored as it was quickly established that the method of fence construction, small bored holes for posts at c.3m intervals, would only have minimal impact on archaeological deposits.
