Description
2017: An archaeological evaluation by means of trenching was undertaken at Land South of Eye Airfield. A total of 16 trenches were excavated measuring 20.00m x 1.80m to a depth of approximately 0.50m onto natural sand and clay deposits. Evidence of a Saxon cemetery was identified on the west edge of the site. No archaeological features were recorded in the southern area of the site or southwest area. (S1)
