Description
The collapse of a large section of boundary wall within the Abbey Gardens complex released a number of Abbey stones. Prior to the subsequent reconstruction, an archaeological visit took place in order to record the original stones. During the visit the stones were sorted individually recorded. A further sorting process was undertaken according to the re-positioning within the newly constructed wall. Most will be placed face in to ensure preservation, however a small number will be kept aside and placed in a visible position to maintain architectural interest (S1).
