Description

Three two-day test pit excavations were undertaken in the village of Blythburgh, in east Suffolk, between April 2017 and May 2019. In that time a total of 36 1m2 archaeological test pits were excavated by 90 school pupils from six local secondary schools as part of the Independent Learning Archaeology Field School (ILAFS) programme run by Access Cambridge Archaeology (ACA) out of the Department of Archaeology at the University of Cambridge. A total of 36 1m2 archaeological test pits were excavated.
