Description
2019: To comply with Scheduled Monument Consent, archaeological monitoring of the groundwork associated with the renovation of Cowlinge Hall, Hall Road, Cowlinge, Suffolk, was carried out during 2019. The watching brief comprised the observation and supervision of all groundwork undertaken within the Scheduled Monument. This consisted of ground reduction in association with external landscaping and the relaying of the ground floor inside the main house, underpinning of the outer walls of the hall, installation of services, and the excavation of footings for the reconstruction of two existing extensions and a garden wall.
