Description

Reconnaissance magnetometer and earth resistance meter surveys, followed by detailed earth resistance meter survey was undertaken in July 2019 over 2.16 hectares at Potash Farm, Freston. The survey was undertaken to prospect for anomalies associated with a Scheduled Monument. Previous air photographic and geophysical surveys undertaken by Historic England to the north, interpreted the anomalies as two concentric interrupted ditches with an internal palisade ditch running between, construed to be a Neolithic causewayed enclosure. The survey was undertaken using a Bartington DualGrad 601-2 fluxgate gradiometer calibrated to 0.25m intervals along 1m traverses within 20 x 20m grids
