Description

2021: An archaeological evaluation by means of trenching was undertaken in advance of residential development. A total of 39 trenches were excavated measuring 30.00m x 1.80m and located to test geophysical anomalies and provide a representative sample of the remainder of the site. Topsoil was present across the site at an approximate depth of 0.30m overlying colluvial deposits in most trenches which ranged in thickness from 0.14-0.90m. Natural clay deposits were encountered at a depth of 0.42-1.20m. Evidence of medieval and post medieval activity was revealed and a small quantity of finds. (S1)
