Site Event/Activity record ESF28927 - Evaluation - Land north west of Hill House, Needham Market

The initial evaluation comprised 20 trenches but due to a misinterpretation of the horizons exposed, the initial nineteen trenches were over-machined. As a result, any features recorded in these trenches were only seen in section, and any discrete features would have been removed during machining. Additional trenching was required to investigate the potential for discrete features and ensure a thorough assessment of the potential of the site. An additional 10 trenches were excavated across the site in available spaces. All trenches measured 30m x 1.8m.
