Description
Watching brief was undertaken by Archaeology South-East were commissioned to undertake an archaeological watching brief during the excavation of geotechnical test pits at the site of the proposed Leiston B substation, Sizewell B, Leiston, Suffolk. A total of 22 test pits were monitored, revealing a fairly homogenous range of sediments. In most of the test pits, a thick layer of natural sand, in places interbedded with a shelly layer, was overlain directly by subsoil and/or topsoil.
