Description

An excavation was undertaken on the site of a proposed borrow pit followinf the resullts of an evaluation. The excavation comprised two areas totalling c.0.72ha, the location and extent of which was drawn with regard to the results of the evaluation. Area 1 was L-shaped and measured a length of 100m by a width of 60m. It was located in the central part of the site, on the location of Trenches 13, 14, 18 and 19. Area 2 was rectilinear and measured 60m by 40m. It was positioned in the east part of the site, on the location of Trenches 25 and 26.
