Description
Evaluation trenching for a pool in an area of high archaeological potential did not reveal any features or finds of any date save some brick debris from a demolished 19th century farm outbuilding. The trench was 500mm deep with 250mm of topsoil above 250mm of mid brown sandy subsoil. The naturally occurring deposit below was soft yellow sand with occasional pale grey clay pockets.
