Description
Monitoring of groundworks for planned extension works revealed one pit of mid twentieth century date and a few stray metal finds of a similar date. The soil strip covered an area of c60 square metres with 300mm-350mm of topsoil that lay over 200mm of mid brown sandy subsoil. Under the subsoil the exposed natural glaciofluvial deposit as anticipated was an orange crag type sand.
