Description

A geophysical survey was undertaken on the west part of the site (tree planting activity had already taken place on remainder of site preventing survey). A magnetometer survey was selected as most appropriate method. Bartington Grad 601-2 dual gradiometer system was used within a system of 30m x 30m grids. The survey was undertaken using a zig-zag traverse pattern, utilising a sample interval of 0.25m and a traverse interval of 1m, providing 3600 sample measurements per full survey grid. A single grid square was selected for re-survey on a daily basis to demonstrate the consistency of the data throughout the survey and provide confidence in the reliability of the data gathered. The surveyable area amounted to 2.93ha. (S1)
