Description

A sample of the c.11ha field was systematicaly fieldwalked and metal detector surveyed. A series of NW-SE aligned transects were laid out 20m apart using a GPS. The transects were each walked rom the NW-SE for the visual recovery of finds and for the non-ferrous metal detector survey. The field was walked in wet and overcast conditions on a weathered surface with a crop of recently germinated sugar beet present, that did not hinder the fieldwalking.
