Description
Archaeological Monitoring was carried out on land to the rear of 3 The Square, Combs Ford, Stowmarket during the construction of six one bedroom apartments and associated parking and access. The first visit was made on 07/05/08 to observe the ground reduction and soil strip. The second and final visit to observe strip foundations was made on 13/05/08.
Observation of the ground reduction on the first visit was uninformative. The extant slab had been removed and approximately 0.3m of underlying subsoil. No features were observed and at this level and no natural deposits were exposed. All trenches were c. 0.6m wide and 1.3m deep.
