Full Description
November 1986: Watching brief over area of field to (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) to be levelled to form garden, and re-digging of drainage ditch. Metal detected prior to disturbance, under pasture, 4 Rom coins found. Also fieldwalked (checking molehills) & soil from builders trench on N & E sides of (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) checked. Main concentration found during examination of re-excavation of drainage ditch to S, Rom C4 pottery, fairly large sherds, mainly within previous ditch fill. Details of finds, map etc in parish file (S1).
