Full Description
May 1989: Watching brief on development behind White Lion Hotel located possible indications of outer bailey ditch in narrow sewer trench. Trench 1.2m deep revealed fill at base at this location of dirty clay still going down. Also small segment of flint & mortar wall near top of trench. Elsewhere along trench nothing seen (S1).
