Full Description
Possible continuation of Rom road, IKL 064, visible on AP. Possible fork to S towards Rom pottery kilns, WSW 002 (S1).
For continuation to Pakenham see LMG 003.
October 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A possible section of Roman road is seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S2). The feature consists of a bank with sections of ditch either side and a possible further section of road joining from the south east. The possible section of road is on the approximate alignment of the Roman road identified to the west (IKL 064) and is in close proximity to multiperiod settlement features to the south (WSW 002, WSW 030, WSW 207). The possible section of road is mapped from the background of an aerial photograph and was not seen on any other sources consulted as part of this survey. The feature is also situated in close proximity to a large area of geological cropmarks. The monument polygon has been amended to correlate with the position of the feature on the aerial photographs.
