Summary
According to a monthly serial on Hintleshams history written for the church magazine in 1920/1921 by Miss Deane, the chiefs (sic) of the early British encampment (sic)(HNS 010) `are buried under the old oak growing on the tumulus at the head of Brick Kiln Lane'.

Full Description
According to a monthly serial on Hintleshams history written for the church magazine in 1920/1921 by Miss Deane, the chiefs (sic) of the early British encampment (sic)(HNS 010) `are buried under the old oak growing on the tumulus at the head of Brick Kiln Lane' (S1)(R1).
The oak tree still stands `on a bump - & Hintlesham lore has it that soldiers are buried beneath it' (S1).
Location marked on HER map after small mound with tree shown on 6 inch map (S2) and after description of location in (S1).
