Full Description

`Site of old Oakley village found north of (St Nicholas) church (OKY 017) in 1950's. Plague pits found'. Location as marked on map (S1). ?Possibly some confusion with OKY 001 which also records possible plague burials.
1997: Mr West Senior (?Mr P West) described levelling the "Med village with a central street" in 1940s, near Oakley church. The levelling works connected with American ?military needs.
