Full Description
Site of water mill & mill stream on River Dove. Was of timber, plaster, tile and thatch. There was a windmill on the N side (OKY 020)(S1). Shown on Hodskinsons 1793 map. On OS 1st ed as laundry (or adjoining building). Mill stream continues S where it follows parish boundary - extension of original stream?
Note: Two (water) mills are recorded for Oakley in 1086 Domesday survey. A further potential mill stream exists circa 200m further S on the River Dove at TM 168 766.
