Full Description
Large post mill with two storey roundhouse. It was built in th early C19 and was pulled down circa 1900. The roundhouse remains, converted into a house. There were four patent sails, two pairs of stones in the head and a third in the tail and a fantail. The site of another post mill can be seen nearby as a hollow in the ground (S1).
Flint cites TM 396 682 and 395 681 for mill sites, built circa 1813 and dismantled after 1910 (S2).
Note a windmill appears to be shown S of the church, at circa TM 395 687 approx, on Hodskinson's 1783 map.
