Full Description
Post mill with two storey roundhouse, said to date from the late C17, ceased work circa 1940 and was burnt down by boys from the Kerrison Approved School at Thorndon in the afternoon of May 17, 1959. The foundations remain visible. There were two patent and two common sails, two pairs of stones in the head and a fantail. The mill was very headsick and needed large piles of bricks in the tail to help the balance (S1).
First mapped in 1675 (S2).
