Full Description
February 1991: fieldwalking assessment prior to insertion of water pipeline located concentration of worked flint - flakes and blades, mostly patinated. From south west corner of field, at bottom of dry valley - interesting location in view of possible hillwash/downward erosion action from field to East (note location of barrow, IKL 076). Further scatter in same field to north east - see IKL 110. Also sherd of flint gritted pottery from this field. Further flints found during topsoil clearance for pipe line, (S1).
Further flints from monitoring.
Descriptions of flint finds are broad, dating to a specific period bracket is ill-advised. However, they may be later Prehistoric, based to proximityto IKL 076, (blades suggest at least Upper Palaeolithic to Bronze age date), (S2).
