Full Description
Spring 1992: during assessment trial trenching prior to housing development (Planning Application B/91/0740), a single pit was located and excavated. It was 1 m. wide,.75 m. deep (below 0.4 m of clay topsoil). Clay- loam fill, contained charcoal and single base sherd of Roman pottery. Trial trenching proved negative in remainder of field and that to the West. Therefore, suggest feature either isolated or related to features to the South? (S1).
