A bronze dagger chape, length 52mm, was found in a ploughed field (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s), and donated to Moyses Hall Museum in 1984. Found with a metal detector.
It dates from C15. The mid-rib terminates in the fleu-de-lys at the upper end. The body of the chape is perforated at either side with the clover-leaf-on-stem motif. There is a short bar at the rear just above the point. Cleaned on the face with weak acid by the donor (S1).
