Full Description
Lead Saint Nicholas token of Med period (Rigold's Series 1) (S1). It has a diameter of 1.4cm. On the obverse side is written the legend "SANCTV ...." (illegible), this surrounds a depiction of a bishop's mitre. On the reverse side there is a long cross pattee with 3 pellets in each angle and an illegible legend (but possibly it should read Ave Rex Gentis). The token is based on a silver penny.
It was found with a metal detector by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) who donated it to Moyses Hall Museum (S2).
