Full Description
Earthwork surviving in forestry plantation in form of low bank circa 40cms high, of square enclosure shown on OS 1:2,500, 1:10,560 and 1:10,000 maps (S1)(S2). Interior not examined due to bracken cover. Adjoins, on NW side (warren and droveway?) banks, STN 035, and opposite long enclosure to SE (in Norfolk).
November 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The post medieval to modern enclosure described above is visible as an earthwork on imagery from a recent lidar survey (S3). It has not been mapped to by the project because, as described above, it is depicted on readily accessible 19th and 20th century Ordnance Survey maps.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 28th November 2017.
