Full Description

Mill and yard.
Ashfield windmill (just in Earl Soham parish), working 1888 (Henry Kent), 1935 standing, still known as the mill (Girling's Mill 1785 - John Girling & Wife) (S1). First mapped by Bryant in 1825, shown on OS 1st ed map of 1837 & Tithe map of circa 1840 (S3). Post mill, demolished 1935 1947 (S2). Post mill with roundhouse, built pre 1739 (S4).
1981: Foundation remains (S5).
