Full Description

Windmill shown on 1815 Rougham Enclosure Map (S1), and on 1884 OS 6 inch map (S2).
Disused in 1882 (S3). Small post mill with roundhouse built in 1770, disused in 1880, pulled down in 1940s or 1950s. The roundhouse walls remain as does the post and trestle. There were 2 patent and 2 common sails, 2 pairs of stones in the head and a fantail (S4).

TL 916643. A small post mill with roundhouse was built at Rougham in 1770. It had two patent and two common sails, two pairs of stones in the head and a fantail. It ceased work circa 1880 and was pulled down circa 1945 but the roundhouse wall remains as does the post and trestle. (Photo 1972)
