Full Description

May 1995: Medieval site identified during pipeline work (S1).

Excavation identified two sites. The first site was made up of four ditches and three pits, from which a significant quantity of unabraded 13th to 14th Century Medieval coarseware with a few sherds of Medieval glazed wares was recovered. This quantity of finds and the pits indicated the site was close to an area of 13th or 14th Century occupation, with the parallel alignment of the ditches suggesting a track way, may have given access to the site WNT 009 to the north-west. See WNT 025 for the second site (S2).

1995: Excavation of a pipeline exposed 4 ditches and 3 pits containing Medieval pottery and one ditch containing Early Medieval pottery. (S3).
