Full Description
Bridge shown on Hodskinson's 1783 and Bowen's 1755 maps (S1)(S2). Also shown on Saxton's 1575 and Speede's 1610 maps (S3)(S4).
Construction date of original bridge unknown.
Current bridge is cast iron and of 1881 (S5, from L A Alston, 1992,'A Brief History of Bures Bridge', Bures History Soc Occ paper No 1, originally published in 2 parts in parish magazine Apr & May 1992).
