Full Description

Ancient woodland as defined in (S1) and revised after tithe map to include parts now turned to arable.
For details of history and earthworks see (S1), the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, English Nature, The County Council Countryside Section and various Oliver Rackham works including (S2).
Adjoining elements of the demarked larger wood on the tithe map (S3) were named West Wood (plot 209), East Wood (plot 233), Lttle Wood (plot 226) and Springy (plot 228). Includes Pedlows Grove (Horringer parish).
Existing, smaller wood, now named Dovedenhall Wood (former West Wood and Pedlows Grove).
