Summary

Evaluation of an area within town ditch and to rear of road frontage, in advance of redevelopment of the Old Coal Yard opposite the church showed truncation of subsoil surface in eastern two thirds of site and possible town ditch/bank deposits surviving at the west.

Full Description

Evaluation of an area within town ditch and to rear of road frontage, in advance of redevelopment of the Old Coal Yard opposite the church showed truncation of subsoil surface in eastern two thirds of site and possible town ditch/bank deposits surviving at the west. Various features survived in truncated and undisturbed areas. Documentary report, field evaluation trenches and monitoring details in (S2) and (S3).
