Full Description

1993: Fieldwalking across two fields recovered a significant amount of medieval pottery, 178 sherds, the majority of which were of unglazed coarse wares 13th-14th century. The concentration seemed to be higher on the east side of Field 1, next to the road. Three sherds of Roman pottery were recovered along with 2 sherds of post-medieval pottery. Burnt flints were recorded as a low concentration scatter all over the field, with high concentration spread of burnt flint in the middle of the field. Field 2 did not produce significant quantities of material, small quantities of Roman and Medieval pottery recovered probably represented manuring of the fields (S1).
