Summary

Former sea defence following present bank line, behind ADB 071. Chalk rubble & timber construction, heavily eroded. No indication of date (except assumed to pre-date existing wall) but timbers quite rough, not square cut.

Full Description

Former sea defence following present bank line, behind Alde 5 (16). Chalk rubble & timber construction, heavily eroded. No indication of date (except assumed to pre-date existing wall) but timbers quite rough, not square cut.
Bank visible in area of eroded saltmarsh (TM44706 56196) at depth of c40-50cm. Continues E from this point for c15m after which no obvious sign of bank in saltmarsh but may still be present underneath what appears to be quite recent salt marsh. S1
