Full Description

Possible site of a building was discovered here. There was a scatter of C13 - C14 pottery, a fragment of an iron spur, an iron arrowhead fragment, a bronze buckle and a lava quern fragment (S1).
Details of the precise locations of these finds and of a second Med site are given in the Ipswich Museum extensions file.
A small bronze gilt and enamel shield possibly of early C14 date, possible leather attachment, was found here in 1980 and is in Ipswich Museum.
